UFG Foundation funds 7 nonprofits throughout U.S. in most recent grant cycle

Released on: Nov 15, 2024, 10:00 AM
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – November 15, 2024

The private foundation of UFG Insurance is pleased to announce it will fund seven different nonprofits through its most recent grant cycle.

A total of $110,000 will be distributed to organizations serving Eastern Iowa, as well as communities in Arizona, California and Colorado where the Cedar Rapids-based P&C carrier also has offices.

“The UFG Foundation is thrilled to be able to expand its giving reach to include communities near Phoenix, Sacramento and Denver this cycle,” explained UFG Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Michael Sheeley, also a foundation representative. “UFG employees across our country are committed to enhancing the communities where they live and work, and the foundation is committed to supplementing that care through grant awards to qualifying nonprofits as our funds allow.”

This cycle’s grant recipients include:

Eastern Iowa:
  • Horizons Meals on Wheels.
  • Make a Wish Foundation of Iowa, Supporting wishes in Cedar Rapids.
  • Mercy Medical Center Foundation, HAL patient simulator.
  • Trees Forever, Planting a Better Tomorrow.
Out of state:
  • Denver: Education through Music-Colorado, Partner School Music Education Program.
  • Phoenix: Wesley Community Center, Inc., Wesley-Golden Gate Youth Services Youth Programs.
  • Roseville: California CareForce, Placer County Free Healthcare Clinic.
“This year marks our foundation’s 25th anniversary,” continued Sheeley. “And it’s heartwarming to know that the legacy of compassionate care upon which the UFG Foundation was built is still as solid as ever. We continue to be honored to play a part in moving community nonprofits forward.”

Qualifying nonprofits who demonstrate a connection to UFG’s vision, mission and values may apply for one of three types of grants, including programmatic funding, operating support or capital campaign (under certain circumstances).

Grant cycles occur three times per year. The application window for the final cycle of 2024 is open now through December 31.
