The Business Process Analyst will facilitate and/or lead business transformation initiatives and provide subject matter expertise regarding best practices to pursue greater growth and productivity, and limit expenses. The Business Process Analyst has the business knowledge and vision to provide guidance to internal teams while also serving the interest of UFG agents and policyholders. This individualwill engage and collaborate with internal teams to identify needs and implement effective solutions to drive significant business impact. This person will be instrumental in supporting both process and system enhancements, and organizational change management.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Identify successful process improvement activities and embed process oriented dynamic capabilities throughout all business units
  • Conduct thorough business analysis to identify, quantify and prioritize improvement and value creation projects.
  • Scope problems, identify major issues and actionable opportunities, design solutions, and quantify potential financial benefits and risk reductions.
  • Lead/facilitate efforts to improve quality and/or minimize process waste
  • Identify barriers and work to remove those that slow or prevent the successful attainment of process/productivity improvement.
  • Teach, coach and mentor individuals and project teams to build business and process capabilities
  • Assist, train and coach project team members in problem solving efforts to reduce defects, improve customer satisfaction, reduce cost and improve cycle time, scrap, rework, etc.
  • Continuously seek, share and implement best practices across the enterprise.
  • Maintain industry knowledge and stay up-to-date on industry trends

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certified or working towards a Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt designation, a Business Process Management (BPM) designation, and/or a Change Management certification preferred.
  • Insurance coursework or designations in the following areas is a plus: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), and other similar programs.
  • All employees are expected to participate in insurance classes or in-house training programs throughout their careers with UFG.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in conducting process analysis with proven success
  • Insurance knowledge and experience preferred.

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Knowledge of, and the ability to apply, philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to apply, the value and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions.
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis
  • Ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create design solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to describe complex, highly-technical issues using simple, clear and precise language; and able to adopt and apply various communication techniques based on the individual.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with people from many disciplines with varying degrees of business and technical experience. Strong business acumen; understand and deal with business situations in a manner that will lead to a positive outcome.
  • Able to organize, plan and deliver presentations with poise and confidence.
  • Passionate, energetic, inspiring, influential personality. Able to maintain a consistent, positive can-do attitude during complex and high-pressure situations.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under deadlines.
  • High performer that strives for career growth and development while acting as an advocate of UFG.
