Overview:

LAY CLAIM TO YOUR FUTURE…

 

Are you ready to be part of a cohesive, enthusiastic and supportive team and show just what a champion you are in Claims?   In this critical role, you would be responsible for investigating assigned property or casualty claims to determine the company's liability, evaluating the loss based on facts obtained and negotiating settlement.

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule appointments to meet with insureds, claimants and witnesses to question and obtain recorded statements regarding the loss.
  • Inspect and diagram accident site. Interview individuals to determine extent and   severity of potential loss.
  • Review and interpret policy coverages to determine whether claim is payable under the policy.
  • Write/dictate reports to document all activity related to loss in timely fashion per guidelines.
  • Negotiate with contractors or other vendors. Recover salvage and sell to appropriate salvage buyer.
  • Keep current on court cases, changes in law, values and prices of property and materials.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

College degree required, plus a minimum of three years of claims or related experience with emphasis in commercial lines desired. Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret policy language and apply to loss. This is a multi-line field adjuster position. While property-focused, the successful applicant will have knowledge of, or willingness to develop expertise in multiple lines of property and casualty insurance. Possess analytical ability to determine reserves. Must possess excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills as well as outstanding oral and written communication skills and be able to make decisions and work independently.
