Claims Administrative Assistant I

UFG is looking to hiring a claims administrative assistant. The incumbent will spend majority of their time transcribing reports, recorded statements, letters, forms and memos for our claims staff. This position will also assist our claims records and supply team when necessary.


The hours for this position is 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

  • Type/transcribe captioned outlines, letters, memos, reports and other correspondences from claims staff.
  • Produce forms, letters and other various correspondences.
  • Maintain electronic claim file in proper order.
  • Place enter correspondences in electronic file folder and document type.
  • Assist record librarians with daily workflow and mail preparation.
  • Index new claim information into imaging system and initiate the proper workflow to allow mail to move to proper individuals.
  • Distribute checks, labels faxes or other documents to proper individuals.
  • Provide assistance by answering and routing overflow phone calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma is required
  • 3 - 5 years of  medical transcription experience required
  • Excellent transcription and typing skills
  • Ability to spend long hours at computer
  • Ability to type 50 words per minute
  • Proficient use of a personal computer
  • Strong organizational skills
