UFG is looking for an Application Administrator to join our growing PMO.

 

The Application Administrator is a configuration and support analyst for a specific vendor-purchased application. The application administrator is responsible for the lifecycle administration including the implementation, configuration, enhancement and support of their specific business application. This role will continually enhance and optimize the specific application as it pertains to the department by working closely with department leaders to find the best solutions for their challenges and to support the company’s vision and goals.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

Application Administration

  • Monitor application health, status issues, service interruptions, and maintenance updates and communicate and coordinate with the vendor(s) as needed
  • Coordinate application upgrades and rollouts of new features and functionality

  • Manage change communication
  • Maintain application access and security
  • Manage application licensing
  • Understand and manage application interactions with other corporate applications

Application functionality

  • Understand basic and advanced application functionality
  • Plan, create and maintain application configuration changes, enhancements and extensions
  • Evaluate application enhancement or configuration requests
  • Understand and align tool capabilities with defined processes and procedures

Application training

  • Develop training materials
  • Perform training to support ongoing increased user knowledge of application functionality.
  • Onboard, train and support new users and groups

Data quality

  • Determine, maintain and communicate data quality standards
  • Perform periodic data quality audits
  • Ensure that data quality standards are met

Reporting

  • Determine the appropriate reporting solutions to support defined processes and procedures
  • Create report based on departmental/company requests

Provide user support

  • Service Request, Incident management and problem management
  • Troubleshoot user questions and Application issues and coordinate resolutions
  • Maintain best practices and standards for templates, forms, schedules, projects, tasks, issues, and global preferences.
  • Identify expected user knowledge levels

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in a technical field related to application administration
  • Ability to visualize concepts, solve problems, formulate processes and understand how systems work.
  • Ability to explain concepts, detailed procedures and application functionality to users with a wide range of application knowledge and skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills-able to interact competently with internal contacts.
  • Professional attitude, image, and demeanor.
  • Proficient planning and organization skills, initiative, accountability, detail oriented.
  • Able to use judgement and independent thinking in resolution of issues and in the interpretation of data.
  • Competent with time management and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work with other departments and help them discover the best way to use the tool/application, based on their department’s needs
  • Insurance coursework or designations in the following areas are desirable: General Insurance, Associate in Personal Insurance, Associate in Commercial Underwriting, Associate in Automation Information Technology, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter or any of the Life Office Management Association (LOMA) classes or designations.
  • Employees are expected to participate in insurance classes and or in-house training programs throughout their careers.
  • Certified or working towards a Business Analyst certification. Certifications include CCBA and CBAP from International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
  • Certified or working towards a PMI certification: PMP or CAPM
  • Four year college degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Workfront, or other Project Management tools preferred.
