Legal Administrative Assistant II

US-IA-Cedar Rapids


UFG is seeking a claims administrative assistant for our Cedar Rapids, IA office.  This role performs a variety of  administrative duties to support our corporate and regional claims management team.  

  • Draft, review, edit and finalize standard letters, forms, spreadsheets and other correspondences.
  • Provide general clerical support in word processing various standard letters or materials for claims management and/or claims staff.
  • Establish, maintain and organize files. Print, sort and scan standard claims documents.
  • Assist record librarians with daily workflow and mail preparation.
  • Index new claim information into imaging system and initiate the proper workflow to allow mail to move to proper individuals.
  • Distribute checks, labels faxes or other documents to proper individuals.
  • Provide assistance by answering and routing overflow phone calls.
  • Manage calendars through Outlook i.e., schedule appointments, meetings and conference calls, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma, required.
  • Two year degree in a related field discipline, preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of administrative experience
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and dealing with professionals inside and outside the organization.
