Overview:

As a Senior Tax Analyst you will work in a challenging, fast-paced and dynamic team environment, reporting to the AVP of Tax & Treasury. You will develop and gain valuable experience in a wide range of tax disciplines including US federal  and  state tax reporting,, and related reporting for US GAAP & Statutory tax accounting purposes and audit. Responsibilities:

Duties will include:

  • Preparation of a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual financial documents including the following:
    • Federal and state tax returns
    • Current and deferred tax provisions for the Statutory and GAAP financials.
    • Calculation of quarterly income tax prepayments
    • Quarterly and annual statutory tax footnote
    • Tax provisions for the Audited statutory financials
    • Tax-to-Provision work papers for Statutory and GAAP provisions.
    • Carryback Claims for Net Operating Losses or Capital Losses
  • Lead a variety of tax projects and research around topics such as cost analysis, job credits, executive compensation credit, R&D
  • Assists in the identification of potential tax savings and/or costs by reviewing and analyzing tax information, schedules, tax notices and discrepancies.
  • Monitor federal state and local tax law changes and assess impact to the company
  • Assist with implementation of changes in tax laws, process improvements, planning opportunities, and other ad hoc projects
  • Reviews basic to complex work prepared by lower level tax accountants and serve as a mentor to less experience accountants
  • Serve as tax subject matter expert to be an information source for the organization.
  • Respond to internal and/or external audit requests as necessary.
  • Perform various forms oversight and compliance
  • Coordination of IRS tax audits, state tax audits as well as working with 3rd party audit partners.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5+ years of related accounting or tax experience.
  • Proven understanding of accounting principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the application of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and complete work within established deadlines, willingness to embrace new projects, ability to work individually and within a team, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to establish and maintain constructive and positive working relationships with internal clients and external professionals.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience; ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles helpful
